Orijen: premium protein-rich foods
Orijen products are rich in protein, contain a limited amount of carbohydrates, and are grain-free. Orijen contains the highest amounts of fresh meat compared to any other dry food for dogs and cats. In addition, there is a low percentage of grains and vegetable proteins, which are considered inappropriate because they are not present in the natural diet of dogs and cats.
Few carbohydrates (20 percent), lots of protein (80 percent): the secret of Orijen
Orijen mimics the natural diet of dogs and cats with its products: instead, it contains a rich variety of animal ingredients, including free-range chicken and turkey, fresh whole eggs, red meat from extensive farming, and freshwater and seawater fish. These animal foods are included in the "biologically appropriate" proportion of 80 - 20(80% animal ingredients, 20% fruits and vegetables, 0% grains and potatoes).
No grains and few carbohydrates: Orijen does not espouse holistic diet fad
Dogs and cats evolved as predators: this is evidenced by the structure of their teeth and digestive system, which allows them to be classified as carnivores, adapted to a meat-based diet rich in animal protein and fat. In spite of this, the trend of 'holistic' foods is still in vogue, consisting largely of grains, little meat and little protein, with carbohydrate content of more than 50 percent, and with "glamorous" ingredients, very often more for the consumer than for the benefits they actually bring to dogs and cats.
